Things to do on South Padre Island

7. Plan a beach wedding
8. Watch a sunrise over the gulf of Mexico or a sunset from a bay front bar
9. Watch the fireworks every Friday night at 9:15 on the bay
10. Sit on the beach and absorb the atmosphere in a cozy beach chair and umbrella
South Padre Island is accessible by air through Brownsville or Harlingen, Texas. From there, you can rent a car or catch a shuttle to the island. Once here, remember to relax and enjoy!
South Padre Island
South Padre Island is a beautiful sandbar island off the Texas coast. Our warm seas and tropical temperatures attract visitors from all over the world. But, we like it best for its laid-back home town tropical feel. Here guests can travel by foot, by bicycle, by car or by watercraft to explore our little bit of paradise. The island is less than 1 mile wide and is packed with things to do. We boast the longest bridge in Texas as the two mile long crossing transports one from the mainland to the island.
